After a couple of years of governing sponsored hikes, I lost the desire to hike until several years ago, when I relocated to Cape Town in the turbulent 80's. I began to discover the beauty of the Cape mountains. Then I joined CUM-hike in 2000 and have been leading hikes since 2002. I enjoy exploring new parts of our immediate area as well as distant regions like the majestic Drakensberg and the rural wild coast. I prefer to undertake the more challenging hikes, but savour any excursions into the natural environment. Graeme
