Torben Wiborg   Contact details 082 411 6792   My mountaineering experiences over the past fourteen years have mainly been confined to the Western Cape. With so many mountain ranges and more than 130 named mountain peaks over the height of 1600 meters, one has a wide scope for exploration in the Western Cape. My favourite ranges include the Cederberg, Kouebokkeveldberge, Hexriver Mountains and Slanghoekberge (Bain’s Kloof area). I generally prefer to climb peaks rather than doing hiking trails, but also enjoy the odd relaxing trip. Some of the routes I lead have no defined paths and are in rather remote areas. As a result the level of effort may be significantly greater than the average club hike. However, I do lead some easier hikes with moderate exposure to heights. The CUMHike program promises to be as exciting as ever and I look forward to renewing friendships and meeting new people in the mountains. Torben
