Thereafter, I started exploring Table Mountain, hiking alone most weekends, to get to know the mountain. Sometimes I got lost, but that was the idea.
I have hiked in the Drakensberg, Cedarberg and done many of the longer overnight trails in SA. I enjoy the tougher hikes, especially scrambling and exposure to heights, but it's not just about a strenuous push for the summit, we are out there to enjoy the experience and take in some soul food.
My favourite hike? That's a difficult one, every hike is special, but if you pushed me for an answer, I would have to say Amatola for a long hike and maybe Jonkershoek Panorama for a day hike.
